On November 22nd 2019, the Australian Functional Fitness Federation officially announced Chasing Better Thwrowdown as their first Sanctioned Event.

Chasing Better Throwdown is Perth’s largest Functional Fitness Competition.  It consists of 4 categories, Beginner, Intermediate, Elite and Masters.
The series begins with an Online Qualifier mid year and ends with a live Final in November.
2019 Chasingbetter Throwdown Weekend runs for 3 Days for RX and 2 Days for Intermediate, Beginner and Masters.

Chasing better offers a prize pool of cash and gear valuing over $30,000
Event workouts are skillfully crafted by Bobby Dee from RAW Strength and Conditioning.

The final event participants included some of Australia and the world’s fittest athletes such as Jessica Coughlan, Zeke Grove and Kosta Ilic to name a few.

The event is owned and ran by Rob Dicey who also owns Chasing Better WOD Supplies and LNMedia.

One of the head event organiser’s, Sean Massey quoted “We are really honoured to partner with the AFFF and allow the athletes an opportunity to represent their country on an international stage, it’s always been about supporting the athletes and community for us and we’re excited to be a part of bringing more opportunity, professionalism and growth to the sport as a whole”

Top 2 finishers in the advanced divisions will earn their ticket to the 2020 AFFF National Final held in June in NSW. From here, these athletes will compete for a spot on the National team to represent their country at the 2020 iF3 World Championships – August 21st, 22nd, 23rd in Abbotsford, Canada.
